Q: How do I arrange for an airline ticket?
A: Contact Eliane at Discover Brazil Tours. Tell her you were referred by Leann Parker/Healing Tours to John of God. You may contact her at 1-800-524-3666.
Q: How do I get a Passport and/or Visa?
A: The best way to get a passport and/or visa is through passportvisaexpress.com. Your passport and visa will be processed all at once within a time frame you choose. You can watch the progress of obtaining your passport/visa over the passportvisaexpress.com website.
Q: How do I get travel/health insurance?
A: Contact TravelGuard at 1-800-826-4919. There are 3 main policies to choose from: 1. The Basic Tour Package which is a secondary policy and only covers medical/evacuation and theft. 2. Standard Protection Assist and add umbrella. This doubles the medical/evacuation, airline tickets, loss in accommodations, loss/ theft of personal items and brings the policy from a secondary to a primary policy. 3. The Comprehensive Policy is just like the Standard Protection Assist and umbrella with the addition of death benefits. We recommend you purchase the Standard Protection Assist and add the umbrella.
Q: Why wear white?
A: When the entities who work through John of God scan your energy field, white makes it easier for them to "see” the energetic imbalances. Also, white helps facilitate of flow of energy in the current room. Darker colors break the energetic current.
Q: Is the water good there?
A: The water is better than good! You will be purchasing bottled water from the Casa that has been blessed and is very healing. It is also wise to bring a bottle of blessed water home with you so you can make your own blessed water for your ongoing healing. You make the water by using a ratio of 1:3 (one part blessed water and three parts water—preferably spring water or water cleansed through reverse osmosis—and let it set overnight). Replenish your water every day and give "starters" to other family members and friends.
Q: Is the food good?
A: Yes, it is very good. Most of the food is organically grown in soil that has not been depleted of its nutrients. Fresh fruits, vegetables, chicken, beef, eggs, rice, and beans are plentiful. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets are easily maintained. In Abadiania, there are 4 cafes close to the pousadas and on the way to the Casa. These cafes offer freshly squeezed/blended fruit juices, shakes and various espresso delights of joy. Some serve healthy sandwiches, organic salads, pizzas and snacks of varying degrees such as homemade chocolate cake. We recommend bringing your own favorite snacks, especially on the plane in case the airline food does not satisfy you. However, never bring fresh fruits or vegetables onto the airplane unless you consume them completely before landing.
Q: Will I be bothered by insects?
A: Insects are more active during rainy season (December, January and February). In general, they are only mildly a problem. You can do just fine without an insect repellant. If you feel more secure having insect repellant with you, order a natural repellant from http://mercola.com or from your local health store. It will do the job without toxic and dangerous chemicals. You want to heal, not soak up chemicals.
Q: How is the weather?
A: Generally daytime temperatures year-round average in the mid-80s, with occasional spikes higher than that. During rainy days, it can average more in the mid-70s and sometimes even a bit lower. Night- time temps average in the low 60s most of the year. But between mid-June and early August, it can occasionally drop into the low 50s, more commonly in the low 60s. It can get pretty brisk. Early morning walks to the Casa can be quite chilly. Bring one heavy sweater or a light jacket for that time of year. Q: What electrical appliances can I use in Abadiania?
A: I recommend not bringing electrical appliances if possible. However, if you need to bring an appliance such as a hair dryer or razor, Brazil’s voltage is 220 volts and 50 hertz. You must bring an adaptor that fits the sockets used in Brazil and a converter to convert 220v to 110v.
Q. How do I exchange currency?
A: The Sao Paulo and Brasilia airports have currency exchange offices that offer favorable exchange rates. Use the Brazilian airport exchange offices only when time between flights permits.
Q: Are there laundry facilities available?
A: Laundry service is available at a per piece price. Most laundry in Abadiania is sun-dried. Judge your needs for laundry service according to the season/weather. During the rainy season (October thru April), clothes may take several days to dry. Your pousada will provide a bath towel. However, you may wish to bring your own washcloths and hand towels.
Q: My husband is disabled and needs care. Is help available?
A: Help is available in Abadiania for those who are in need of additional care. Partial or 24-hour care is available at very reasonable prices. David Ames has organized Heaven's Helpers and trained assistants to care for those needing assistance. Please email Leann at leann@leannparker.com to make arrangements.
